Client: BHP MINING
Dear Jim,
I would like to express my congratulations for the
recent achievement of your company in completing the
Goonyella Riverside Mine CPP1 1998 Yearly painting
contract injury free.
As we discussed at our close-out meeting, the discipline
of blasting and painting is recognized as having normally
high injury rates due to the nature of the work, but
although the work was carried out over a 10 week period
we achieved over 8000 man hours of work, with zero
minor injuries or LTI’s. I believe this to be
not luck, but a direct result of the attention that
you paid to your pre-contract preparation and your
daily monitoring once the work had commenced.
As most of the work was achieved in difficult circumstances,
under normal operating conditions, with the plant
running, the finished quality of the work and Quality
Assurance documentation supplied was very good.
Thanks for your efforts and I hope that we can work
together again.
Graham Davies – Senior Maint. Planner CPP1 (Goonyella
Riverside Mine).
